Park Chu-young of Frances AS Monaco yesterday scored his fifth goal of the season in a 1-1 home draw versus Lyon.
Park had also scored the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Stade Rennais last Thursday.
The French media called Parks play fantastic. Djimi Traore hit the ball coming from the right side of the penalty zone with an overhead kick in the 35th minute. Sebastien Puygrenier headed the ball to the ground and Park immediately kicked the ball into the net.
Monaco had given up a goal to Lyon on a free kick in the 22nd minute by Michel Fernandes Bastos.
Park played all 90 minutes and earned the highest player rating of seven points from France Football magazine. The French sports daily LEquipe also gave him the games highest rating of six, naming him MVP.
Korean national team coach Huh Jung-moo said, However well defenders play, you cannot make it into the (World Cup) round of 16 without goals. I am pleased that Park Chu-young has enhanced his ability to score goals in good condition.
