N. Korea’s New 5,000-won Bill

North Korea’s new 5,000-won banknote features a smiling face of the late North Korean leader Kim Il Sung. The back shows Mankyongdae, the home he was born in. The bill has the same design as the 100-won bill, which used to be the highest denomination in the North before 1997, but Kim’s portrait has been replaced with a smiling face.
