The statue of King Sejong, which will be installed at downtown Seoul`s Gwanghwamun Square on Hangeul Day Oct. 9, appears yesterday at a workshop of a factory in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province. When the height of stylobate is included, the statue is 10.4 meters high. The work is 95 percent complete and the only task remaining is choosing a color and painting the statue. The king holds the Hunminjeongeum Haerye, a guide on the explanations and examples of the Korean language, in his left hand and his right hand is raised, showing he was a broad-minded leader who embraced his people.
