Myeongrang Strait Festival

The Myeongrang Strait Festival commemorating the Battle of the Myeongrang Strait, a naval battle fought in 1597 with the Korean fleet led by Admiral Yi Sun-shin, is held yesterday in Haenam, South Jeolla Province. Thirteen of Yi’s warships defeated 133-vessel Japanese armada.
