Plummeting Won

Worried-looking forex dealers yesterday watch the board indicating a surge in the won-dollar rate at the dealing room of Korea Exchange Bank in central Seoul. The won fell a whopping 59.1 points to close at 1,328.1 won per dollar, its weakest finish since April 12, 2002.
