A second LPGA win is in sight for the Korean women playing on the LPGA Tour. Kim Young (27) is the player who is closest to the goal.

Scoring a 4-under 68, Kim tied for first place with Paula Creamer and Beth Bader (U.S.) in the third round of the Corning Classic held on May 27 at the Corning Country Club (par 72) in Corning, New York. The three players are tied at 16-under 200. Kim, who debuted on the LPGA Tour in 2003, has yet to achieve her first victory.

Kim Mi-hyun (KTF), who was the first Korean player to win an LPGA Tour cup this season at the SemGroup Championship earlier this month, ranked fourth with a score of 15-under 201 after cutting six strokes off her total. Kim In-kyung (19) ranked fifth with a 12-under 204, placing herself within striking distance of the cup, depending on her score in the last round.

Kim Young scored an 8-under in the second round, and continued her fine play in the third round with five birdies up to the 12th hole. However, Kim failed to move into the solitary lead when she scored her first bogey of this tournament at the 13th hole (par 4).

More Korean players followed, with Min Na-on (19) in sixth place (11-under 205), and Grace Park (Nike Golf) and Lee Seon-hwa (CJ) tied in eighth place (10-under 206), for a total of six Korean players in the Top 10.
