Colombia’s Snow-Covered Volcano Shows Increasing Signs of Activity

On February 20, the Nevado del Huila volcano erupted in plumes of ash and smoke. Located in Huila, in southwestern Colombia, its elevation is 5,360 meters. A state of emergency was declared as its eruption triggered landsides and residents were evacuated immediately.
