Spring Starts

On Feb 4, the first day of spring according to the lunar calendar, the maximum temperature during the day was over ten degrees nationwide and a feeling of spring was everywhere. At a vinyl house in Gyeongsan-si, Gyeongbuk-do, peach blossoms are in full bloom and village children are reading books (right). At a barley field in Ttangkkeutmaeul (Korea’s southernmost village), Haenam, Jeollanam-do, kindergarten children enjoyed treading barley. The central regions have seen yellow sand for the first time this year.
