Arirang

The Ministry of Science and Technology and the Korea Aerospace Research Institute showed the first pictures taken by a camera on the multi-purpose satellite Arirang-2 at a height of 687km from the earth. Cheonji on Mt. Baekdu and New York Harbor are seen clearly in the pictures. Arirang-2 was launched from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome, Russia and is orbiting around the earth at 4.5 orbits a day for observations.
