There’s a Korean saying that at this time of the year around June 6, when barley is ripe enough to be harvested, farmers are so busy that even pokers should give a hand. June 6 is known to be the optimal time for reaping barley and sowing new seeds. Farmers of Gochang County, North Jeolla Province, are pleased at the good harvest, holding the newly-reaped barley.
