Merapi Erupts

On May 13, Mount Merapi Volcano located outside Kaliurang, Yogyakarta, the capital of Central Java, belched lava. With the drastic increase of volcanic activity in Mount Merapi, which might lead to a full eruption, the Indonesian government’s alert level rose to its highest level and an immediate evacuation of residents was ordered.
