A tiny drop of water falls on the quiet surface of water, causing ripples. The droplet is like a chime of a bell that breaks the early morning silence. A tiny water drop, bell chimes, and the media have one thing in common: The media raises awareness of people and keeps them informed. It breaks silence in the world about issues that people should not remain silent about. It is a “water drop of trust.” On April 1, the Dong-A Ilbo celebrates its 86th anniversary. “The Newspaper You Can Trust: Dong-A Ilbo, ” the Dong-A Ilbo’s new motto, is reflected on the rippled water surface.
