American auto manufacturer General Motors, facing tough management difficulties, announced on November 21 that it will cut 30,000 jobs. Right after the announcement was made, workers at GMs First and Second Plant in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, are waiting for security agents to open the gates so that they can go home. The first plant that produces the Chevrolet Monte Carlo and Impala and the second plant that manufactures Pontiac Grand Prix and Buick Lacrosse will be gradually downsized until 2008.
