On October 1, immediately after the 56th Armed Forces Day celebration held at Gyeryong-dae in Gyeryong-si, Chungcheongnam-do, Army Chief of Staff Nam Jae-joon (left) shook hands with President Roh Moo-hyun. General Nam announced his resignation on November 25.
