The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI) has strongly opposed the revision of the Private School Law proposed on Sunday by the government and the ruling party, claiming it to be unconstitutional.

It is the first time the FKI, representing financial circles, has publicly opposed the revision of the Private School Law. It is interesting that the opposition came out in the midst of the controversy rising from the revised bill.

On the same day, the FKI distributed an FKI-issued paper to association members, claiming that “the ruling party’s revision of the Private School Law greatly limits the authority of the boards of directors and restricts the freedom of foundations managing the school system, threatening the existence of the private schools.”
