The Central Investigation Department of the Supreme Public Prosecutors’ Office has found and is investigating Uri Party Rep. Shin Kye-ryoon on additional charges of receiving millions worth of gift certificate besides the 300 million won he took from GoodMoney.

An officer from the prosecution said, “The former president of GoodMoney, Kim Young-hoon, stated on Wednesday that he had given one to two million won worth of gift certificates to Rep. Shin.”

The prosecution also added more charges as they found Rep. Shin accepting five million won in cash on November 2002, a month before receiving 300 million won of illicit political funds. However, the prosecution said Kim denied Millennium Democratic Party Rep. Cho Jae-hwan’s account that, “An additional 350 million won of GoodMoney’s money has been delivered to Rep. Shin.”

The prosecution revealed that they canceled the travel ban on Dongbu Group Chairman Kim Jun-ki from March 9 to 10, who is being investigated on allegation of providing illegal election funds, because of his request that he “has to leave to the U.S. for the medical treatment of his disease.”
