LG Insurance and Korean Air are the most similar teams in their capacity among mens business volleyball teams. When they compete with each other, it is essential for a team to win to take initiative.
It was the second tour of KT&G V Tour 2004 Volleyball held at Mokpo Gymnasium on January 6. The motivating force with which LG Insurance could defeat Korean Air in reverse was the return of big gun Lee Kyung-soos powerful performance to destroy the spirit of Korean Air.
Lee recorded 27 points including five service aces with fearful high spike serves to lead the victory with a set score of 3-1.
Lee, starting for the second time this season, got out from the aftermath of military basic training for four weeks and made a big stride for MVP as well as the rookie title.
LG Insurance had two straight wins and landed first in the semifinal as the first place team in Group B.
Losing the first set and behind by a score of 6-9 in the second set, LG had a chance to reverse the turn with Lees serve.
Lees high spike serve slammed on the corner of court before the players of Korean Air could get ready for it, and Son Seok-beom and Kim Seong-chae made spikes of the ball when it barely managed to come over, to approach by one point with an 8-9 score. Subsequently two serve aces of Lee broke the opponents spirit completely. LG Insurance, taking their first lead with 10-9, didnt lose their flow and finished the second set with 25-23.
In the third set, Lee Kyung-soo succeeded at serving aces and an opening smash at every crucial moment and Son Seok-beom (22 points) in the right position, Kim Seong-chae (21) in the left and Lee Yong-hee (10) in the center also were active to notch a 25-20 victory. LG Insurance easily completed the fourth set with 25-17.
