Lee Tae-hyun (27) of Hyundai is truly the majesty of Korean Wrestling. Since getting married last July, his standing had slipped down to 7th place, showing that he had fouled up. However, Lee Tae-hyun is not one who would easily give up his Majesty Seat position to others even though he is on his honeymoon.
At the final match of 2003 Cella Gem cup Sooncheon Korean Wrestling Match Backdu class (over 105.1kg), held at Sooncheon Palma gymnasium on October 20, Lee Tae-hyun bored down on his opponent, Kim Young-hyun, also known as Goliath of Shinchang (27, 7 feet), 2-0, getting hold of the Bull trophy.
At the semi-final, Lee Tae-hyun managed to bottle up Choi Hong-man of LG (23, 7feet 1inch). With moves of body-twisting throws and outside knee-circling, he obtained a clean-up victory, taking two consecutive rounds. He also leads Kim Young-hyun with 31 wins and 20 losses in his career record.
According to this victory, Lee Tae-hyun came to the throne of the Backdu class for the third time out of the five formal matches. There are still two victories left over between him and the current record holder, Lee Man-ki, a professor of In-je University, with 18 victories.
