President Roh Accepted Resignation of KBS President Seo Dong-gu

President Roh Moo-hyun accepted the resignation of Seo Dong-gu, recently appointed president of state-run broadcasting network KBS, Friday after fierce protest by the station`s union.

In the afternoon, Lee Ha-sung, senior presidential secretary for public relations, held a meeting with reporters and mentioned the selection of the new president of KBS.

“A new president should be selected within a month from when the position remains vacant. Considering that the tenure of the sitting executive board of KBS expires on May 15, the current board is expected to select a new president,” he said. “President Roh will not recommend a specific figure for the position, this time,” he mentioned.
