Cho Jung-hoon, Chairman of Hanjin Group Passed Away

Cho Jung-hoon, The Chairman of Hanjin Group passed away of old age at 1:00pm of 17th at Inha University Hospital. 82 years old at death. The deceased of the establisher of Hanjin Group began to show weakness of health from the end of May in this year and stayed in hospital for long time.

The deceased established Hanjin Commerce in Inchun in 1945 when he was 25 years old. Since then he has dedicated in transportation business for 50 years and operated comprehensive transportation group including 21 companies with their asset of 24 billion won (ranking 5th in Korean Business society): Korean Air, Hanjin Shipping, Hanjin, Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction etc.

The deceased successive service in various posts such as the Chairman of Korea- France Economic Cooperation Committee, the first Chairman of Federation of Korea UNESCO Association etc.

There are family of wife Kim Jung-il and 4 sons and one daughter; Hyun-suk, Yang-ho, Nam-ho, Soo-ho and Jung-ho. The mortuary is set up 18th floor of Korean Air Building in Sesomun-dong, Chung-gu, Seoul, and the funeral ceremony will be performed by Hanjin Group`s funeral. The funeral ceremony will be held at Korean Air headquarters in Kimpo Airport of Kangseo-gu, Seoul at 21st. The cemetery will be his ancestral burial ground in Shingal of Youngin, Kyunggi.
