The Ahn Jung-hwan Transfer Conflict Becomes a Prolonged Problem

The transfer of Ahn Jung-hwan is still having difficulties. The Korean Football Association said, while the conflict between the Peruza (Italy) and the Busan Icons about the ownership of Ahn Jung-hwan is still going on, that the FIFA informed that it might take 6 to 8 months to solve this problem and he could suffer from a disadvantage of not being able to be transferred to another team.

Jean Paolo Monteneri of the Legal Support Department of FIFA sent his opinion to the Korean Football Association saying that although Busan signed the lease contract for two years about Ahn, Jung-Hwan through the extension of the contract with the Peruza, the Peruza still had 3 years of claim period because Ahn Jung-hwan made a 5 year salary contract with the Peruza.

Therefore, in order for Ahn Jung-hwan to transfer to another club before the beginning of the new season, he has to terminate the contract with the Peruza through the arbitration court of the Italian Football Association. The Korean Football Association, in reaction to that, predicted that because the Peruza did not pay Ahn Jung-hwan his salaries for several months and the owner of the Peruza insulted him, there was a good chance for winning the arbitration and the result would be out in few weeks. Meanwhile, Ahn Jung-hwan’s agent the E Player showed discontent saying, “We cannot understand that we need to get arbitration from the Italian Football Association to solve the transfer conflict with an Italian team.” The E Player said, “We will find a solution for Ahn Jung-hwan not to stop playing as a way of protecting our player.”
