GNP to Form a Fact-finding Committee against Corruption Scandals

The Grand National Party (GNP) has decided to form a fact-finding committee against illicit fortune-making by family members of the president in a bid to bring corruption cases involving the incumbent government to light.

Suh Chung-won, GNP chairman, said at a meeting with the party`s senior officials, "Allegations of corruptions involving sons and relatives of President Km Dae-jung and influential figures have been sprung up." He also directed to form a fact-finding committee as soon as possible to comprehensively address such allegations.

Lim In-bae, GNP deputy whip said, "The fact-finding committee will comprise nine members including Rep. Hong jun-pyo. The committee will embark on investigation based on answers by the government at the parliamentary interpellation session, which will be held from 22nd to 24th."
