The Encounter between the Sun and the Moon

A partial eclipse, the phenomenon where part of the sun is obscured by the moon, was

seen in a few countries including the United States, the Philippines, Indonesia and

Mexico on 10 , 11. The eclipse lasted 1 hour at the longest. In some areas including

southern California in the US, people could see the sun obscured by as much as 94%,
