Roh Moo-Hyun Won Incheon & Daegu Primaries

Roh Moo-Hyun won the Millennium Democratic Party`s (MDP) Incheon and North Kyeongsang Province primaries, which were held at the gymnasium of Incheon City College and the sports complex of Nam Gu, Pohang, on 6th and 7th. Thus, the difference between Roh and Rhee In-Je increased to 1,016 votes.

Roh held six consecutive victories in primaries since the Gangwon Province primary on March 24th and has swept 8 of 11 primaries.

At the North Kyeongsang Province primary, Roh received 1,246 votes (59.4 percent) of the total 2,097 votes, and Rhee and Chung Dong-Young respectively collected 668 votes (31.8 percent) and 183 votes (8.7 percent).

Therefore, in the combined tally of votes, Roh has received 8,018 votes (47.6 percent) so far, while Rhee and Chung have won 7,002 votes (41.6 percent) and 1,817 votes (10.8 percent) respectively. Roh widened the gap with Rhee to 1,016 votes throughout the 11 primaries.

At the Incheon primary, Roh won 1,022 votes (51.9 percent) of the total 1,969 votes. Rhee received 816 votes (41.4 percent), and Chung grabbed only 131 votes.

The number of the 11 primaries` electoral college is 41.2 percent of the total electorate. The voting rates of the North Kyeongsang Province and Incheon were 55.0 percent and 56.0 percent, which are next to that of Daegu (54.0 percent), the lowest one.
