Conflict between Unions and the government is worrying people as Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) decided to call 2nd allied general strike.

KCTU held emergent delegate rally at weight lifting stadium in Seoul Olympic Park on the 26th, 30th day of the strike of power industry unions, and decided to call 2nd allied general strike on April 2nd unless the government resume the talk with power unions.

KCTU will instantly rush into strike by the order of deputy chairperson of KCTU even before April 2nd, if the government and 5 power companies dismiss the union members who don`t come back to work, or police forces are thrown into Myongdong Cathedral in Seoul.

Before the general strike, KCTU will start overnight sit-ins from 27th, which representatives of local union across the country will participate in, and hold mass rallies simultaneously across the country on the 30th.

Meanwhile, headquarters of 5 power-generating companies announced that 1873 persons or 33.5 percent out of total 5591 unionists came back to their work. Especially, 206 persons out of 404 persons, who are in the 3rd group object of punishment like union division chiefs, returned to their posts, and all the 48 unionists of Muju Pumping Power Plant except the chairperson of the union, who is striking in Myongdong Cathedral in Seoul, stopped the strike.

However, serious troubles from the protracted strike are anticipated, as 200,000 Kw scale No.2 generator of Ulsan Thermal Power under DongSeo Power stopped due to the leak of steam.

Since the power unions started strike, Bundang Compound Thermoelectric Power (6th), Ulsan Thermoelectric Power (15th), and Samcheonpo Thermoelectric Power (21st) have been out of order, and operated after fixing.
