5 economic organizations including the Korea Employers Federation demanded for a strict response of the government such as the mobilization of the public force in terms of the strikes of public sectors. The five organizations held an emergency press conference at the office of KEF and released a joint statement `to request the government for a strict response to the illegal strikes such as the immediate deployment of the public forces`.

The organizations defined `the strikes of the public sector as a clear violation of the law` and pointed out that “if the government only tries to settle down the current situation, this situation may be calmed down for a while but it will recur and end up with annual illegal strikes.”

The organizations also emphasized that “if the strikes of the public sector spread out to the private sectors by the lukewarm responses of the government, it would be a fatal blow to the recovering economy. If the unions of the private sectors act in concert with the public sector unions, we will respond strictly by asking their civil and criminal liabilities.”

Cho Nam-Hong, Vice Chairperson of KEF, stated that “the government must respond in principle by exercising the public forces for the social security and the economic recovery not trying to find a makeshift.”
