Millennium Democratic Party to Abolish the Presidency of the Party

The Millennium Democratic Party (MDP)`s `Special committee for the development and reform of the party` (hereafter `Special Committee`) held a plenary meeting yesterday and decided to abolish the presidency of the party.

In relation to the leadership system of the party henceforth, the `Special Committee` agreed to introduce the `democratic collective leadership system`, and decided to define the position of the supreme council as the decision-making organization by the representative (council) system.

The executive secretary of the `Special Committee` Kim Min-Suk said, "The predominant opinion was that about nine people should be appointed to the supreme council members, and the chair of the policy planning committee and the party`s floor leader should be designated as the supreme council members."
