U.S. President George W. Bush and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to reduce massively the nuclear weapons of the two nations at the summit talks in Washington on Nov. 13.
U.S. President Bush revealed during the 3-hour summit talk that the U.S. will reduce 2/3 of the nuclear warheads from current 7000 to 1700-2200 for next 10 years.
Russian President Putin also had a press conference at the Russian Embassy after the summit talk that Russia will reduce the strategic weapons to the minimum level to maintain the strategic balance with the U.S. Russian officials explained that it means the reduction of 2/3 strategic weapons.
The U.S. plan is not to destroy the nuclear warheads but to separate them from the missiles. The 10 years that Bush mentioned is the time for the separation of the nuclear warheads.
