The official poster was unveiled to the public in Korea, Japan, and the FIFA yesterday at the D-300 days to the opening of the World Cup 2002.

The Korean Organizing Committee for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan unveiled the poster with the attendance of the Joint chairpersons of the KOWOC, Jung Mong-Jun and Lee Yeon-Taek, in the office of the KOWOC, Mugyo-dong, Seoul.

The official poster highlighted the oriental images by illustrating the soccer playground with the strong and deep touches of the calligraphy on the Asian traditional papers. The five colors in the poster, Black-White-Red-Blue-Yellow, symbolize the five directions of the Korean traditional five-direction colors. The design was made by the Inter Brand in Britain, which undertook the designs of mascot and logo for the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan.
