1.5 Mil. Won To Flooded Houses For Consolidation

Seoul city, the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs, the Ministry of Planning and Budget, and the ruling New Millennium Democratic Party held a meeting for the disaster countermeasures and decided to provide 1.5 million won for the special consolidation to the flooded houses in Seoul area.

Lee Hae-Chan, the chairperson who facilitated the NMDP policy, said that ``the special consolidation fund for each house will be raised from the government subsidy (600 thousands), disaster relief contribution (600 thousands), and Seoul city`s disaster fund (300 thousands).``

The government and the ruling party also decided to support 30 million won for the total destruction of homes or stores and 15 million won for partial destructions, including 30 percent of the government subsidy, 60 percent of low rate loan, and 10 percent of self-support.

Previously, the government and the ruling coalition held a meeting to discuss with the related ministers and the chairpersons of the parties about the countermeasures and established a mid and long term plan for the Flood Prevention and Countermeasures such as the assignment of the national budget of 800 billion won to improve the living environment in the lower areas nearby the rivers for the following three years.

Regarding the death tolls by the electric shock, the government and the ruling coalition will inspect the street lights over the nation and will study the electric shock prevention measures, including the higher establishment of the electric panels and the remote controllers.
