`101 year old man recorded the oldest person to make a Hole-in-one in the world`
Herald Stilson who lives in Boca Raton, Florida, tasted a sweet fortune when he aced the 16th hole (par 3, 108-yard) at Deerfield Country Club with a 4-iron.
According to the recent issue of Golf Digest, Otto Bucher was the oldest golfer to record a hole-in-one. He was 99 when he aced the 130-yard, 12th hole at La Manga Golf Club in Spain in January 13, 1985.
Stilson who still drives himself to the country club for 18 holes three times in a week and sometimes even on Sundays plays nine holes, said that this was his sixth hole-in-one.
He took up golf 80 years ago and had his best round- one under, 71, when he was 26. Now he is a 27-handicap golfer.
He was even called for an interview from ESPN and David Letterman. But he personified a serene state of mind saying that, ``A hole-in-one is just a ball that`s well struck, that has a little luck going in.``
His advice for golfers is to enjoy themselves and not tense up. And he also revealed his secret for long life. ``Eat a lot of popcorn and beer.``
