Japan`s minister flatly dismisses textbook revision

Japanese minister of education and science Atsuko Toyama said that, ``there can be no re-modification of descriptions in the textbook compiled by the `Society for History Textbook Reform,``` the Japanese news media reported Monday.

In a press conference upon taking office, the new minister said, ``I cannot say anything (about the demand of the Korean government for re-revision) because Korea has not yet demanded re-modification. If there is a request, I will examine it and cope with it properly.``

However, she said, ``(Modifying) again is impossible owing to the system, and the result of the examination that was conducted under solemn procedures cannot be re-modified.``
