Jessica and Jacob Evans of Mansfield, Ohio check out an apparent piece of space junk in a cornfield near Mansfield in central Ohio Friday, March 23, 2001. A caller to a local radio station reported the location drawing sightseers. The three steel drums welded together with added fins and red painted markings Soviet CCCP and a hammer and sickle symbols spoofed the high profile breakup of the obsolete Mir space station which broke up over the Pacific Ocean Friday after 15 years in space . No one was homeat the farm where the junk was found.
