Quality of Seoul life rated 93rd among 215 cities: survey

Seoul ranked as a ``mediocre`` city in a quality of life survey conducted by William Mercer, a Switzerland-based multinational consultancy. In the study of 215 large cities around the world, Seoul placed 93rd with a score of 82 points, one notch down from its position last year.

The survey measured quality of life in each city based on 39 criteria, such as political stability, traffic congestion, water pollution, crime and banking services. New York set the benchmark of 100 points.

Vancouver and Zurich shared top honors with 106.5 points each followed by Vienna in third and Copenhagen, Geneva and Sydney tied for fourth.
