Park Chan-Ho to open baseball clinic in Beijing

¡°Korean Express¡± Park Chan-Ho of the Los Angeles Dodgers will open a baseball clinic for Chinese youths in Beijing Tuesday. The Korean pitcher in the U.S. Major League arrived in Beijing Monday.

Park will be the first Major Leaguer to open a baseball class in China.

He will open the baseball class for about 100 young people and the Beijing City baseball team to compete in China¡¯s national games at Fungtai Ballpark in the capital city of China Tuesday.

He will sign baseballs for about 500 Chinese fans and deliver baseball supplies and donations for the development of Chinese baseball.

In a press conference at a hotel upon his arrival in Beijing Monday, Park said, ¡°Basic skills are important for the development of baseball. If Chinese children want, I will come here any time.¡±

¡°I saw Chinese players in various international tournaments, but their baseball has yet to take root. I hope this baseball clinic for children will be helpful,¡± he said.

Many Chinese mass media representatives, including the largest, CCTV, attended the press conference, expressing their deep interest in Park¡¯s Beijing visit.
