GNP seeks removal of Ambassador Yang

Kwon Chul-Hyeon, spokesperson for the opposition Grand National Party, on Sunday called through an official statement for the removal of Ambassador to the United States Yang Sung-Chul over his comments about the Status of Forces Agreement and the Nogeun-ri massacre.

"His family holds U.S. citizenship, and as he has not had actual experience as a diplomat,¡± Kwon said. ¡°He lacks the ability to work for the greater good of Korea in dealing with the U.S. As we have always maintained the fact, Ambassador Yang has only brought shame upon Korea through his words and actions. For the greater good of Korea, the President needs to remove Ambassador Yang."
