Hanwha`s southpaw pitcher, Song Jin-Woo (34), gained his 12th win for the season in his start against Hyundai on the 12th.

He debuted in the pro league in 1989 and in 12 seasons has earned 133 victories, making him the wins leader among current pitchers.

The record for the highest number of wins recorded in pro baseball is held by Sun Dong-Yeol, who had 146 wins before going over to Japan in 1995.

Before Song, the current player with the highest number of wins was Lee Kang-Chul (Samsung), who has had 10 consecutive double win seasons with a total of 132 victories. Due to surgery on his knee and shoulder, Lee has been moving back and forth between the major and minor leagues. This season Lee has pitched in 8 games, recording 3 losses, and it seems Song will hang on to his title.

In view of Song`s skilled pitching and still potent fastball, he is likely to break Sun`s record as the pitcher with the greatest number of wins.
