First economy ministers' meeting

In the morning of August 9, the government will convene the first economy ministers` meeting since the appearance of the new economic team to discuss future financial policy directions and measures to maintain teamwork at the Kwachon Government Complex, with Finance and Economy Minster Jin Nyum as chairman.

During this meeting, the economy ministers plan to reaffirm that the Hyundai Group turmoil will be resolved under the leadership of the creditor banks, and will discuss the schedule for the implementation of reforms in the four main fields - corporate, finance, labor, and the public - for the latter half of this year.

A related source at the Ministry of Finance and Economy said that most of the economy-related ministers will participate in the upcoming meeting. He added that the ministers would maintain a policy of smooth teamwork by having meetings frequently in order to eliminate confusion and dissonance between economy-related government bodies.
