South Korea will be seconding a team of 1,047 athletes including 811 to the 2018 Jakarta Palembang Asian Games, which will start from August 18.
“We are now focusing on last training so that our players will be able to demonstrate their best at the actual games,” said Korean National Sports University President Kim Sung-jo, who will be leading the large-scale team at the International Games. “Our citizen’s support and cheers will help our players feel more comfortable about the games.”
Korea aims to take 2nd place for six consecutive times at this upcoming Asian Games by winning more than 65 gold medals at events including archery, shooting, fencing and taekwondo.
