A new music video by Korean boy band BTS has surpassed 100 million page views just nine days after its release.
According to YouTube, the total of page views of “Fake Love,” which BTS released on May 18, exceeded 100 million on Sunday. It is a new record that has been set in a shortest period of time by a K-pop music band.
BTS appeared for the second time in Ellen DeGeneres Show, the popular talk show on NBC TV in the United States on Friday after last year. BTS’ new album “Love Yourself 轉 Tear” was ranked eighth on British Top 40 Albums Chart on the day, which was the highest level ever for a Korean singer to rise on the chart.
Due to such a phenomenal success, industry watchers say that Big Hit Entertainment, BTS’ management agency, will surpass 1 trillion won (930 million U.S. dollars) in market capitalization, and threaten the statuses of SM Entertainment, YG and JYP. Big Hit is preparing for initial public offering on the Korea Exchange.
