Evgenia Medvedeva (age 18, Russia), figure skating female single silver medalist for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games, will have the same coach as the hope of Korean male single Cha Jun-hwan (age 17).

“I am leaving longtime coach Eteri Tutberidze to work with Brian Orser,” announced Medvedeva on Tuesday, according to the Associated Press (AP). “I’ve learnt many lessons from her, and I will remember them for the rest of my life. After some time, everybody will understand that moving to coach Orser was the only choice.”

Coach Orser, who instructed “queen of figure” Kim Yu-na (retired), is currently coaching Cha Jun-hwan and Hanyu Yuzuru (Japan), PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games male single gold medalist. “I will train in Canada with coach Orser,” Medvedeva said “I am, however, not preparing to change nationality like some speculations at home.”
