Samsung unveils its cinema LED screen Onyx in U.S.

Samsung Electronics has showcased its new cinema LED brand “Onyx” at the world’s biggest theater industry convention Cinemacon 2018. Movie theaters that feature Samsung’s cinema LED screen will operate under the name of “Samsung Onyx Theater.”

Compared to the conventional projector-based screens, Onyx provides enhanced contrast, vivid content and HDR images. Theaters with Onyx screens will also feature Harman’s JBL audio systems, offering live sound at any seat within a given theater.

The Korean tech giant installed the Onyx screen Wednesday (local time) at the Hollywood Pacific Theater in Los Angeles for the first time in the United States.
