Hollywood musical La La Land has set a record with seven statuettes at the 74th Golden Globe Awards.

It won the Best Musical or Comedy award at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday (local time). La La Land director Damien Chazelle won the Best Director and the Best Screen Play. The Golden Globe Awards, presented by the Hollywood Foreign Correspondent Association, is called as a prelude to the Academy Awards in February.

La La Land’s Ryan Gosling won the Best Actor and Emma Stone the Best Actress. In addition, the musical movie won the Best Original Score (Justin Hurwitz) and the Best Original Song (City of Stars). It swept all seven nominated categories.

The movie is about a story of dream and love between a jazz pianist (Ryan Gosling) and an aspiring actress (Emma Stone). It is the latest piece of Chazelle who directed Whiplash, a musical movie released in Korea last year. La La Land was first shown at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival and won the best actress award, and claimed the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. It was released on Dec. 7 in Korea, attracting 2.72 million viewers.
