Floyd Mayweather Jr. (38, U.S.), who was criticized by boxing fans for playing "the worst game of the Century" in May, has retired as an active pro boxer after keeping his undefeated record, which was dubious to some extent. Mayweather, the welterweight grade (66.7 kg) champion for both the World Boxing Confederation and the World Boxing Association, won by unanimous decision by all judges in WBC and WBA super world welterweight titles against Andre Berto (32, U.S.) held at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday.

Mayweather continued his out-boxing to outpoint in the "Match of the Century" against Manny Pacquiao (37, Philippines) in May. In Sunday’s match, he was leading Berto by landing 232 punches versus Berto’s 83, but he tried to spare himself again and failed to display an aggressive play. As Mayweather took steps celebrating his own victory while avoid exchanging of pinches ahead of the end of the 12th round, fans around the ring booed at him.

Mayweather, who had declared his retirement after the event, tied with "Boxing Legend" Rocky Marciano (1923-1969) to have the most undefeated matches (1947-1955) by garnering 49 wins in as many matches. However, the boxing community is reluctant to recognize Mayweather’s record. Marciano had 43 knockout wins of his 49 wins in the heavyweight grade, while Mayweather had only 26 knockout wins.
