A drunk foreign car driver kills four people in a car crash

A thirty-something drunk driver crashed a city car, killing four people in the city car. Mr. Im, 38, who was driving an Audi model rear-ended a Hyundai Atoz in front of a church in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, at 3:36 a.m. on Tuesday. When the city car was hit, it made a large sound and had fire in the back. Then, it hit a telephone pole near the road.

The accident burnt down the Atoz and the 35-year-old driver and three unidentified women were burnt to death. “We’re having difficulty in identifying the women because the car was seriously burnt and almost unidentifiable,” Gumi police said. “Given that the car frame was heavily damaged, they are highly likely have been killed at the time of the crash.”

Even after hitting the Atoz, the Audi crossed the centerline and crashed two other cars and a truck. Fortunately, the cars were parked and had no passengers. At the time of the accident, the Audi driver’s blood alcohol content was 0.154 %, which could cancel his driver’s license. He had light injuries on his neck and waist and was treated at a hospital. Police is investigating him to find out what caused his drunk driving and whether he had any fault. Im, CEO of a mobile phone parts maker, said in the probe, “I remember I drank a couple of glasses of alcohol at a bar, but I can’t recall how I got to drive.”
