President-elect Park Geun-hye will have a small company exclusively take charge of organizing her Feb. 25 inauguration, breaking a tradition of having a conglomerate affiliate do so.

In a news briefing Sunday, Kim Jin-sun, chairman of the organizing committee for the event, said, Yonhanaro Communications, a small company, has been named to take overall charge of event organizing." The measure is seen as reflecting President-elect Park’s strong commitment to become a "president for small and medium enterprises," starting from the preparation of her inauguration.

Under the slogan “Representation by people from all walks of life to the extent possible,” the committee plans to invite 30,000 of the 60,000 invitees from the populace. To this end, the committee will receive applications via its website and post mails for a week from Monday noon.

The committee, however, ruled out inviting North Korean officials to the ceremony, saying, "This was never considered by the inauguration organizing committee.”

On if rapper Psy will attend, it said, “Many suggestions have been made to hold the ceremony in a meaningful way. We are comprehensively considering this.”
