Power outages due to cold wave

Korea`s electricity distributor has issued a series of power shortage alerts due to a surge in power consumption caused by cold temperatures. As backup power fell to 3 million kilowatts Tuesday morning to trigger "attention" mode, employees at the Korea Power Exchange`s central control center in southern Seoul closely monitor conditions.
