Jusangjeolli Cliffs in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, and the basalt canyon and Bidulginang Waterfall in the Hantan River basin in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, have been designated natural monuments. Registered as Natural Monument No. 536, the cliffs are famous for a fan-shape joint formed by cooling lava in a variety of directions. Named Natural Monument No. 537, the basalt canyon and Bidulginang Waterfall were formed by the erosion of a lava plateau in the Hantan River by a stream that originates from Mount Bulmu. The waterfall was named after hundreds of white doves that live there.
