Yoon Boo-keun, president of Samsung Electronics consumer elections division, used that expression in a news conference Wednesday on the sidelines of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, dismissing rival LG Electronics declaration to become the world`s top seller of 3-D TV sets.
"Samsung sold 43 million TV sets worldwide last year, and we will increase sales 15 percent this year," he said, adding that the goal in this year is to overwhelm Samsung`s rivals in all TV categories. The company apparently seeks to beat out competitors in all TV sizes and types to make it impossible for them to catch up.
Yoon said, "The key to success with smart TVs lies in how we make differentiated content that is easy to use. We continue to consult with content providers. I met them this morning, too." He also said Samsung plans to launch "N Service," which allows users to save games and movies via cloud computing and retrieve them on a variety of other devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs. "Beginning in April, we will begin to distribute perfect-quality 3-D programs made jointly with NBC Universal.
