
The U.S. Navys 93,000-ton class nuclear aircraft carrier Carl Vinson enters the Busan base of the Korean Navys Operational Command Tuesday. The Nimitz-class supercarrier, which was inaugurated in March 1983, is 333 meters long and 40.8 meters wide with a runway deck extending 76.4 meters. The ship carries 24 FA-18 fighter bombers, 10 feeders, 10 S-3A anti-submarine warfare aircraft, four EA-6B electronic warfare aircraft, and four E-2 airborne early warning planes. The Carl Vinson fleet, which conducted a mission in the West Pacific, is visiting Korea to offer sailors rest and boost bilateral friendship. The fleet will stay in the Korean port through Friday.
